PRESIDENT AND FOUNDER

Dr Kofi Asare-Bawuah grew up in Ghana. He completed his medical school education at School of medical sciences, KNUST.  He finished a pediatric residency at Hurley medical center Flint, MI which is a campus of Michigan State University. He was a chief resident. 

He is board certified in Pediatric hospital medicine and is a fellow of the American Academy of pediatrics. 

Dr Asare-Bawuah is the medical director for the pediatric service line for CoxHealth in Southwest Missouri. He is passionate about helping those in need, especially children. He dreams of contributing to improving the health system in Ghana and other African countries. 

Dr Asare-Bawuah is married with 2 kids.

BOARD CHAIR

Dr. Tom Trent is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician who is currently serving in a hospital administrative role in Springfield, Missouri. Tom has served patients throughout Southwest Missouri since 2009 before transitioning to administrative service.

Dr. Trent is an Oklahoma native and completed both undergraduate and medical school training at Oklahoma State University. He completed his residency at The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria before relocating to Springfield. Prior to a career in medicine, Dr. Trent served in the Air Force and Air National Guard for ten years, where he spent time abroad. Before his role at REACH Foundation Tom served as a board member of a local non-profit organization that solves problems directly related to poverty in Nicaragua.

OPERATIONS

Laura is a board certified pediatric nurse with a background in general pediatric & ICU care. She currently works in an outpatient PACU surgery center. 

Before caring for people's physical needs, Laura worked for the nonprofit campus minsitry, Cru. In this role, she served on campuses in Southwest Missouri sharing the Gospel and equipping and mentoring college students with spiritual, emotional, and mental growth. She also served on leadership teams for local & regional conferences. She also had the opportunity to take students on an international mission trip to East Asia.

In her free time when she’s not working for REACH, she mentors new nurses and nursing students. Investing in the next generation for Christ is the driving force behind why she is passionate about REACH Foundation and the work we are doing.

TREASURER

Zach is a senior at Missouri State University, pursuing a degree in Business Management and Leadership. He has gained valuable experience in the financial sector through his work at a local credit union and his current role in the finance department at Tomo Drug Testing.

With a deep passion for nonprofit work, Zach is excited to help guide this organization’s finances. Through responsible and transparent stewardship, he aims to maximize the organization’s resources to support both physical healing and spiritual restoration through the gospel

OPERATIONS

Sebastian is a Senior Business Analyst in Data and Analytics for a large health system in Southwest Missouri. His work focuses on developing reporting and analytical solutions for a variety of healthcare related problems, ranging from quality of care to operational efficiencies.

Prior to his current role, he worked for a local higher education institution and international ministry.
